here comes different sounds from MC

Are you one of the persons who used to writing your paper in McDonald?

Did you sell your ideas to your customers or persuade them to buy the life insurance, and then drink a cup of cold Mc cola when they left and do nothing with your 30mins' talking?

Or, have you even spent your whole night in Mc untill the sun rised?

Here comes the different sounds from McDonald, which recorded by two local artists. Someone claimed that this situation is unique in Hong Kong. Well, i don't think so. As my personal experience i used to do my homework in Mc because my home is fitting up in Beijing. But if you find a mother buy a burger for her child and let him do his homework in Mc, that must be occured in HK.

To let the audience's attension focus on the "sound" there is two parts of exhibition. well, the pure sound and the pure moving picture.

Even if there are so many people think the kind of exhibition lack of artistic elements more or less. However, from my point of view, an important fuction of art is to discovery and education and share what your emotion is. It's more useful and more active than the socalled contemporary art but no one can understand except the artist himself.

Where should i place the artists' idea?

Sometimes I just wondering a question: what are we seeing in an exhibition? The artist try to express their emotion and desire through the art works, and what are the parts of receiving for the audience? Like some experience in the theatre, if we throw off the posters with the abstract of the show, how many can be understood by us? And what we get is the same as the artist wants to present?

I was walking through the Art center with all the questions above last Sunday. This trip is not normal as before. Missing the performance part of the exhibition and sitting down for the communicating part of the show made us can understand nothing just listen some strange and academic words come out of the artist’s mouth. Staring at the light point, all the audience’s faces come into my eye. What are they thinking about the exhibition and what information they received through the artist’s sentences? All I got is the initial idea of this show which is the mix of the audio and video and internet with some symbol that is considered belong into two generation or group. Actually, I cannot focus on any of these points basing on the questions flying through my mind. It is said that do not ask what they want to be but what you want to get. That made me confused about the significance of the art work’s function. If everyone gets the same idea as the artist want to present, is that a good situation? I don’t think so.

That reminds me of a film which is my favorite “The Butterfly Effect”. There are 6 different endings of the film. One of them is the irreplaceable director version and others are the ones the director thought the audience may like. Although it cannot say that the artists should take the audience’s receiving into consideration, the art work still be a tool to express what the artist want to say. Therefore weather the audience can get the right idea and right information is basing on how clear the way artist present.

Well, the questions of independence and the communication of art come into my mind again, though which is not a new one. Get what we want is my point of view, but where should I place the artist’s initial idea?

HK Fashion week

Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2008 is Asia’s largest fashion fair last year.

World Boutique, Hong Kong, which runs concurrently with Fashion Week for Fall/Winter, has attracted 366 brands and 255 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions.The 39th Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter features exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, with Israel participating for the first time. There are also group pavilions being hosted by the Chinese mainland, India, Korea, Macau and Taiwan. Dedicated to fashion brands around the world, the 6th World Boutique showcases the latest fashion brand collections, including apparel, watches, shoes, fashion jewellery, home fashion and lifestyle products. Countries and regions taking part include Hong Kong, Australia, the Chinese mainland, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, the Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and the US.

Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ ContestAnother fair highlight of the two fairs is the January 14 staging of the 31st Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest 2008. This year, 18 contestants are competing in three categories: Casual and Jeans Wear; Contemporary Day Wear; and Party and Evening Wear. Six prizes will be awarded, including the winning prize from each category: City Magazine Prize, sponsored by City Magazine; the Most Innovative Collection, sponsored by the YD Alumni Club; and the Overall Winner Award.
Two leading players from the international fashion world have been invited as this year’s VIP judges: Maria Luisa Trussardi, President of Finos SpA, the financial holding of the Trussardi Group; and the renowned Japanese fashion designer Tsumori Chisato.

These pictures is about a shoes designer's work in this Fashion Show. I do like his work which involved many different emotion and inspiration. He tried to use his work to tell us a story, which including his wife, their love stories and all the little things happen in his life. As a shoes maker he not only make the shoes that everyone need to wear, but make it an art work.

And this one it's Lily, Lily is imaged as a friend of this designer, who wear 3 pairs of shoes produced by the designer. Seeing all the work of him, I feel life is so cool and so as the art.

Trip of Fo Tan

A curious trip of Fo Tan started on last Sat. The reason why I said it is curious is that this trip is more like an advanture~ Holding a map in our hands still made the process of finding a certain workshop difficult, but interesting as well. For me, this is the first time I went to Fo Tan, but not the first time that I came to such art community. In Beijing there is 798 Art Community, which is a nice place to think and fine inspiration.

Well, it is really a unique experience, because walking in Fo Tan doesn't like go to a whole art world. There still are quite a lot residential buildings, and there must be numerous blue collars rush to the factories from Fo Tan station. Actually, sometime we take art so serious and acedamic, in Fo Tan, that is so daily and common, which goes well to the normal live.
